I am including the plans for my 1x42" strip sander and 1.5x48" strip sander in one package so don't have to decide which version to build ahead of time. Both are very similar in construction, but one is direct drive, the other belt driven. Personally I mostly use the strip sander XL, but the narrower belts on the 1x42" sander can get into places that the XL sander can't
